As in the garden implement….not a woman of questionable character. 🤔

The story goes, these used to be cooked on an old worn out hoe, crook of the neck straighten out to be a flat surface when  held horizontally over an open fire.

Basically, these are corn pancakes and they are delicious!  2077 went on a trekking expedition a few years back; his canoe partner had made these and he loved them.  He came back and cooked them for me.  It’s now something we have every so often, when I can convince HIM to cook breakfast!

The recipe we have is:

50:50 ratio of course ground corn meal and self-rising flour.  Add water until thick and creamy (think pancake batter).  Sweeten to taste.

For us this translates to:

1 cup corn meal

1 cup self-rising flour

3 Tablespoons of sugar.
