Yummy goodness if you can brave the thorns and bugs! This is my collection basket; a bark basket with a quart mason style jar in it, a bear bell, and pruners (not pictured).

We have been collecting about a quart a day for the lasy few days. When I arrive home, I soak the berries in ice water to clean them, then do a second ice water soak. This cleans off most of the dirt & bugs. I set them on a plate to dry for a few hours. They are still damp, I package thrm on a freezer bag and freeze. I will do this until I have enough to make a batch of blackberry jam.

Since I started the draft of this post, the berries are coming in quick. We are now just using a large colendar.
